When I started my journey as an author, I never dreamed that it would have any side benefits. Little did I know that I would soon uncover hidden skills that would help me in both my professional and private life.
For instance, I have become a much more confident public speaker after having addressed many classrooms and spoken with uncounted students, readers, and buyers at shows.
I've learned (with vary degrees of success) some marketing and advertising skills. I've even developed design and layout techniques which have helped in my instructional design career.
But perhaps the most surprising talent I've uncovered is video production. Now, I'll never be a polished video producer, but I have managed to make some nice video trailers and interviews. Some might say they're A bit basic and sometimes crude, but I've used the skills to produce some training videos and also a promotional video for a company I used to work for. So, just for fun, here are some of them for you to check out, including the video compilation of all my book trailers that I use at shows. Let me know what you think in the comments.
